TRT Community

I have the pleasure of speaking with hundreds, if not thousands of men each month about testosterone. Their question: “is my testosterone low?” The unfortunate truth is that for the majority of these men, it is.

One of the biggest complaints I hear about is of lack of energy. I cannot count how often I hear about men needing to nap throughout the day. I believe it’s the most common because it’s the most apparent symptom. It’s easily discernible. If you’re unable to keep up with your young children or need to nap after work it’s usually caused by a lack of energy. It was my biggest symptom and I hold a special place in my heart for fathers going through the same thing. We talked a bit about symptoms of low T on THIS episode of the the All Things Testosterone podcast.

But what about the less obvious side effects? What about the inability to thrive at home, or at work? The inability to focus? Having no ambition? Those were my symptoms. I once had a flourishing career and once that switch was flipped I found myself unable to compete the way I once did at work. There wasn’t a flashing sign that screamed “failure.” My performance reviews didn’t suffer much. It was my “choice.” I wanted to be left alone and had no ambition. So it wasn’t obvious that there was a medical issue. I thought I was just content. But TRT changed that immediately. within a month of Testosterone I became more competitive in my career.

What about when you’re unable to maintain your home? It doesn’t seem as obvious as failing to play with children because your home doesn’t stand in front of you begging for attention. It slowly and silently falls into a state of dilapidation. Are your gutters full of leaves? Mine aren’t anymore.

My results on TRT

Within 6-8 weeks of TRT I found that my energy was through the roof, I was able to focus like I was in my 20s, my anxiety was gone, I was losing weight more easily, and as a bonus, my libido was insane. I was ambitious again. I was able to return to school and focus on my work. My career began thriving. I was motivated.

I was lucky in that I didn’t wait very long before seeking help. Most of the men I speak with have been deficient for the better part of a decade and some of the damage is irreparable. Their careers are “toast,” their children are grown, their spouses have left them. All it takes is a simple blood test. Within a week you can be a competitor again, you can relieve your anxiety, you can look better, feel better, and be a better husband and father. Why wouldn’t you check your levels?!? Is it because you’ve been misinformed? Do you still believe that TRT is dangerous? I (and science) would argue that under the care of a knowledgeable doctor, you’re long term health is much better on TRT that it is with deficient levels and you can trust me because I’m not a doctor.
